Because haiku can’t be rushed.
In fact, haiku seem to resist acceleration completely, which is probably why they’re so relaxing to read and write.
Also, because if I write 1 haiku a day for 10,000 days it will take 27 years and 4 months to finish, leap years included.
That’s more than my whole life over again (at the start of this project I am 26 years and 10 months old).
I may have to rename this Half a Lifetime of Haiku.
